1980-81 London University, Master of Science Degree in Occupational Medicine
1981-83 Medical Officer for the Central Electricity Generating Board which employed 60,000 people in the generation and distribution of electricity in England and Wales. Medical and rehabilitation responsibilities were held for the Transmission and Technical Services Division, several power stations (coal fired and nuclear) and the Research Laboratories. The post was based at the Headquarters complex in London. Experience was gained in the areas of employee rehabilitation, noise, asbestos, heat exposure, ionising and non-ionising radiation, manual handling, office work and the particular problems of providing occupational health services to a geographically diverse organisation.
1983-84 Medical Officer in the Public Service Occupational Medicine Unit. This unit provided an occupational health service to the Victorian Public Service. The work included an advisory role on occupational health and safety to Government Departments, the management and prevention of work related health problems, health promotion and education, prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal problems amongst keyboard operators and the development and implementation of hearing conservation programs.
1985-87 Consultant, Oxis Consulting Services. This company was formed in 1985 and provided occupational health and safety consulting services to a wide range of organisations including Elders-IXL (Automotive Group), GE Plastics, Plastex Corporation, ACI, Myer, Hewlett Packard, Olivetti, Burroughs, Mars, McPhersons, Telecom and Ammunitions Factory Footscray. The type of work included senior management consulting on company policy, programs and procedures, supervision and support of doctors and nurses, education and training programs, implementation and supervision of periodic health assessments, employee rehabilitation and specific workplace problem solving.

Current Positions:

1987- Occupational Physician in private practice covering management consulting to organisations on all aspects of occupational medicine, development and implementation of health surveillance programs, preparation and presentation of training material, toxicological and environmental advice and the clinical treatment, rehabilitation and review of people with work related health problems. Current and recent clients include Monash University, ICI Australia (Orica), Mars Confectionery of Australia, ACI, Monsanto, Hewlett Packard, CSL Limited, Martin Bright Steels, Toll Transport Group, GE Plastics, Huntsman Chemical Company, Prahran City Council, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Johnson Matthey, Pacific Composites, Haz-Waste Services, Albright & Wilson, Carter Holt Harvey, Aeronautical & Maritime Research Laboratory, Stork Wescon and Telstra.
1992- Occupational Physician on the Medical Panel For Victorian WorkCover Authority.
1993- Approved Rehabilitation Provider under the Victorian WorkCover Scheme (Provider Number RR 012).
